filljord is the creative project of Jill Ford, a painter and experimental artist from the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia. Informed by surrealism, absurdism, and post-human thought, her work slips between the organic and the synthetic, the intimate and the alien. Both process and inquiry, filljord is a site of continual transformation where identity, sentience, and perception are tested, refracted, and remade. Ford’s paintings act as portals into an absurd imagination that drifts between memory, dream, and simulation. The figures that emerge feel alive yet unreal, familiar yet estranged, always questioning what it means to inhabit a body, a self, a world.
